Hashtag Poetry Poem #27

Every weekday in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #27:

First day in Office 2.0, and it’s pretty decent, despite the fact I’ve been hit with a slew of rejections. Clearly, lots of other people got into their offices early this morning too. No matter, we will plough on regardless, and we will make the best of the fact I get extra time today to do the things I want to do. It would be foolish therefore to not capitalize on my advantage…

The Prestige

I just wanted to put a brief note here as a reminder to my Future Self that the project with YES (York Ending Stigma) for Time to Talk day was wholly magnificent. I’m SO pleased with how it went down and the exposure it got, and it has absolutely galvanized me to do something similar for Mental Health Awareness Week in May.

Thank you again to Emma at YES, and all the people who supported me with the project. The poetry can now be put into a .PDF file and prepared to go to Amazon…

Hashtag Poetry Poem #26

Today was considerably more expensive than yesterday: I did something very dumb too, which has never happened to me before. There needs to be more thinking, and less bodging 😀 However, the Office is up and (almost) working so THAT’S COOL 😀

Hashtag Poetry Poem #25

Every weekday in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #25:

Today was expensive, enjoyable, and finally granted me access to a space I’ve been dreaming about for decades. The next week is about settling in, working out and changing priorities. I AM READY for these challenges. Most of all, I’m proud of what I made and achieved. That’s the biggest win in all of this… and one I hope to keep working on going forward 😀

Hashtag Poetry Poem #24

Every weekday in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #24:

The day did not start as I would have liked. My car is broken, and it’s going to cost my book budget for the month to fix. I was tested today by many things, but after seven months of waiting, my dream office is fitted into our tiny box room. The weekend is all about filling it with love and books, which I am very much looking forward to doing. For every down, you get acceleration back up again. Here we go 😀

And so, it’s a new month. I’ve already learnt some new things today, that I didn’t have an understanding of yesterday. There has been the inevitable beginning of the month rejection (and it was a dream one too) so I’ll be consoling myself shortly and then getting straight back into it. The plan is to not lose the impetus I have managed to gain in January. Right now, I feel confident that will not happen.

Hashtag Poetry Poem #22

Every weekday in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #22:

A lot of today has been… let’s be honest, not optimal. However, a small something happened this afternoon which has genuinely filled my heart with joy. It won’t change the World, but it’s altered mine significantly to the good, which is all I can ask for right now. Some days, you take your victories where you can find them.

Hashtag Poetry #21

Every day in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #21:

I’m feeling a bit MEH today, but hopefully will be back to normal tomorrow: lots of fluids and rest, and then an attempt to unpack a brain filled to overflowing with ideas and possibilities. It’s hard to believe that it’s February next week. We’ve been in January for what seems like forever…

Hashtag Poetry #20

Every day in 2022 I’ll post six lines of unique poetry on Twitter, and then archive it here for posterity with some additional observations. Here is Poem #20:

Today’s been life changing, and by that I mean I have the opportunity to do something I though would be impossible. Thanks to someone else’s generosity, I’ll be working in a Virtual Retreat for a week in March, with a poet I absolutely love. Thank you to the individual concerned, I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. Pay it Forward, people 😀

To be honest, I wrote the best response to this poem in another Tweet. Lemme go unroll it for you 😀

After 26 days of daily writing practice, I have been reduced to a sobbing, emotional wreck by a children’s story. The timing for me, of this, if I were a spiritual person, is not to be ignored. Maybe that’s a sign in itself. @ShareClaw [Poet Clare Shaw] should be doing voice-overs and audiobooks. When you shut yourself off to pain, so many other good, useful and cleansing emotions are also lost. You need to grieve, and rage, and hurt, because if you don’t those emotions destroy the sanctity of everything you are. It took a kids book this morning to point that out.

Feeling everything is a blessing and a curse, and it only now occurs to me that if that ability can be taught to function better, I will get so much more out of both my work and my own ability to interact with the world. Welcome to a New Idea, Brain 😀
