To say I am looking forward to this movie is an understatement of significant proportions. Travelling without moving is what I do, all the time. Here’s a poem about it.
And then, she did the deed, and cut the cord, then promised faithfully she’d not write any more about it after the week was done. I fully intend to stick to that promise too. One more poem about it and we’re done.
This week’s also been a bit of a game changer in relation to my exercise aspirations. That’s undoubtedly contributed to my better mood and an increase in productivity. As a result? Have some exercise poetry!
Short, sweet and the point? This week, we finally stopped talking a good game and actually started living it.
As an exercise this needs more work and editing. As an opening to a day when I smashed a ton of goals and became a better writer? PRICELESS.
It’s really revealing, going back to archive these poems, and having completely forgotten the particular contexts in which they are written, but to know deep down that these are issues that I’ve been fighting, probably for years now. It’s interesting how distance alters the perception, and how what matters most is never what you think it is to someone else…
I am a serial overthinker, have been for as long as I can remember. The trick is to understand the limits of your influence and not to allow the constraints of others to dominate. It is magic too, sometimes, the ability to free yourself from totally avoidable tyranny and then to escape to other worlds…
If you are reading this, the next two weeks’ worth of posts are being done retroactively, which is an indicator in itself of how turbulent they have been. The poetry from last week (in case you are curious) can be found here and was a useful diversion from what was already taking place. I’ve been struggling with decisions for a while. This is my brain’s way of dealing with that fallout. In good news, we’re close to moving forward now…

Yes indeed, these poems really do end up following a pattern, involving people online upsetting the collective calm. It’s a good thing we’re in Mental Health Awareness Week starting on Monday, it’s time to cleanse the palette…
